There really ain’t no rest for the
wicked, and though the embers of Strummerfest 2013 are still just fading we are
now getting the 2014 program on its feet.
As always, the barrier to just doing anything we want is money. Crass?
Yes. But crass is what punks do
best, right?
Someone pointed out that maybe “Uncle Joe” would like it even better if Strummerfest wasn’t so dependent on corporate support, so this year we’re starting early at reaching out to the grass-roots. The grass-roots-rock-rhythm, as it were. Instead of asking corporations for hundreds or thousands of dollars, the fact is that if even a small number of Joe’s individual fans offered us $15 or $20 each, we could get the 2014 show off the ground in a more stellar way and really do Joe (and our supported charities) justice this year.

appeal.
We’re asking individuals -- those who love and remember Joe Strummer; those who want to support the indie music scene; and those who want to support our work for our supported charities -- to join Strummerfest’s Grass-Roots-Rock-Rhythm Chorus. How? Anytime between January 10th and Feburary 28th, 2014,* use the link below to pledge just $15 or $20 (or any other amount). Make sure we get your name and contact information too, so you can be included on the Chorus list. *The Strummer- and math-savvy amongst you will recognize that's a 50-day span -- one day for each year of Joe's clipped-short life. Yes, we do try to put meaning into everything we do. Thanks for noticing.
