Everything and the Kitchen Sink presents
a Double-Length All-Request "50 Days of Strummer"
Strummerfest Show
BROADCAST IN TWO PARTS ~ FEB. 7 AND FEB. 21
in support of Strummerfest's Grass-Roots-Rock-Rhythm Chorus Campaign
What is EATKS? It's the on-line radio show that's "an eclectic mess and mayhem of ska, punk, retro, indie and everything in between, both new music and the old stuff" broadcast by our friend and supporter Nikki, a"hobbyist radio host" who describes herself as "sweary, sassy, and not a professional DJ." She also admits to "a touch of a Strummer obsession", so every show has "Joe Strummer x 3." Everything and the Kitchen Sink can be heard on iTunes and Soundcloud (click the links to go there). And visit eatks.net.

By supporting Strummerfest, you are supporting those who seek to serve others struggling to hold onto hope. Strummerfest is a community-centred, non-profit venture that donates all of its net proceeds of all of its shows and merchandise sales to suicide-prevention charities. We extol and uphold the legacy of Joe Strummer, who believed that humanity wasn't so bad, and people need and deserve a helping hand in hard times. And if, while we're at it, we can draw people's attention to the independent musicians, young and old, who try to fill the venues of our local downtowns with their eclectic and energetic songs and styles, well that's pretty cool too. |
