THE PROGRAM
On December 22, 2016, Strummerfest held our first ever "gala" dinner party followed by an into-the-night rock concert. Well, "gala" might be a stretch -- but there was great food, great music and great people attending; so how much more "gala"-ish does it need to be? The following is how we advertised and described the event.

PART ONE : DINNER & SHOW
The night begins with a 3-course dinner & show combo (just $40; i.e., pretty much just 'cost') starting at 6 pm; doors will open about 5:30, for a little mingling and getting settled before eating. Remembering that the man we celebrate every year -- Joe Strummer -- was in many ways just a downhome British bloke, dinner offerings from the excellent chef at KW Boathouse include a choice of three Brit-themed entrees: Fish & Chips, Steak & Kidney Pie, or a vegetarian curry. Each dinner is flanked on the front by a choice of soup (Ginger Butternut Squash, or Roasted Red Pepper) or salad, and on the back end by a dessert -- your choice of New York Cheesecake with whipped cream and seasonal berries, or German Apple Strudel with Vanilla Cream Sauce (or, for those who can't take the pastry, fresh sliced fruit). When we are ready to start entertaining, our awesome emcee, Carrie Humphries (a co-founder of this Strummerfest experience) will take the stage, and we will hear, in turn, from the three terrific local indie singer/songwriter/musical-geniuses pictured to the left. We'll also hear from our featured charities, Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council and Your Life Counts, whose messages of hope are part of what inspires our annual activities, and our emcee for the night is local radio, TV, internet and community event personality, Care Humphries. PART TWO : AFTER-DINNER SHOW
The dinner & show program should conclude about 8 p.m., so that by about 8:15 the doors will open for everyone to join in. We are asking for a $5 cover (unless you have already paid the dinner and show price, in which case you can just stay for free!), but "pay-what-you-can" will get you in the door. (We are hoping some of you are willing to pay more, because the total net proceeds of the night will be given to our featured charities.) Starting about 8:30, the rocking gets going with the artists pictured to the left. If you haven't heard these awesome performers before, come on out, because you're going to love 'em. Awesome, eclectic, rich and original rocking sounds.
Not only is this a great night out, but it's a great way to celebrate the holidays. In fact, if your family, group of friends, or employers, haven't already decided when and where to have your holiday party, come have it with us!! Links to purchase tickets are located above on this page!
