SIGN-UP FOR ​STRUMMERFEST 2021

    If you'd like to be part of Strummerfest 2021, please read and fill out this registration form, and we'll respond to you soon.
    ​Strummerfest 2021 won't be like previous years' events. We are asking each participant to provide video content only.  The videos will be assembled to make a single, continuous program that will premier on YouTube and Facebook in August, 2021.  Videos may also be linked on our website.
    Videos are to consist of one to three (no more than three) musical numbers. Though we prefer a new recording if possible, we know it won't be possible for everyone, so we don't mind if you use pre-existing recordings (but be mindful of any licensing obligations connected with them - by submitting a video, we'll be presuming you have all the necessary rights to it, and grant us the right to use it in the manner we've explained here).  If you do provide only a pre-existing recording, then also please grab your phone or use a webcam to provide us with a short (20-60 second) personal greeting.  (You can also just provide a personal greeting.)

    We will need to receive all videos by no later than June 30, 2021. However, the earlier the better. You can provide them to us using a private upload to YouTube, or give us a link to a Google Drive. If you know a better way, that is fine too.  We'll also list other options if any become available to us.
    The standard Strummerfest asks apply:  We aim for a family-friendliness, so, you know, none of those words please. Also  remember that our aim is to build hope. We support suicide prevention organizations. So please try to pick songs that don't reflect a contrary message to that.   Lastly, although the show is given in Joe Strummer's memory, there's no obligation to cover his tunes. You can, of course - it's cool if you do - but your own songs, sounds and stylings are all we really ask for.

    We figure one question you might have is "how much do we get paid?" Because Strummerfest is for charity, we're always happy if a band chooses to perform for free -- production staff are all volunteers, and all proceeds, such as they are, always go back to the charities. But we don't ask performers to play for free. This year, of course, we aren't asking you to travel  to be in the show, but we know your time and talents don't (and shouldn't) come for nothing. Depending on our sponsorships, we certainly plan to give an honorarium to each band or performer. You can let us know what you think is fair.
