Josh Bean, City of Waterloo Events Coordinator, and his assistant, Kristy, ensured the set up of sound equipment and managed the soundboard throughout the festival, with a little help from other volunteers.

In addition to the sound and backline, most of the set up activities relate to getting the booths and banners ready.  Strummerfest organizer, Michael Clifton, is pictured in the red t-shirt below. Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council's Amanda Demmer shared comments with the audience as (later and not pictured here) did Your Life Count's Rory Butler and Greg Devine of McIntosh Perry, representing the festival's sponsors.
Pete Fowler (above) and Coral Andrews (below) from CKWR-FM both helped out introducing some of the bands.
